12 WEEKS
12 weeks old comes with a developing personality.
Tripp has decided that he doesn't have to CRY all the time anymore.
He is sleeping so much better usually only waking once during the night.
Dennis and I hear him in the morning talking away. I like to think God is talking to him.
He loves staring at his hands. He examines them constantly.. Who knew that could keep him satisfied.
He hates taking bottles... the craziest thing I have ever seen.
He seems to like going to the sitter everyday- his first full week.
His little feet are constantly going. He just kicks and kicks.
He LOVES to smile...

"Babies don't keep"
I came across this poem, written in 1958 and originally published in Ladies Home Journal, and it was a gentle reminder of my priorities as a Mother. I find myself wishing away a few months until he can sit up on his own or just entertain himself for only 30 minutes so I can do the dishes or paint a picture or check my email. I realized this is my baby and a baby he will not be much longer. This is my duty as a mom and my PRIORITY is Tripp; not getting a workout in, not playing basketball, not painting a picture or doing household chores. Already he has grown and changed so much and those days are in the past. The dust and the laundry will still be there tomorrow. But, children grow up. Each day that God gives me is another chance to love on my son and cherish the moments I have with him.
Song for a Fifth Child
By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for babies grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

11 WEEKS OLD
5 weeks
11 weeks old
(the above picture he has the same gown on)
Tripp is 11 weeks old and I can't say this enough; he is turning into a little boy FAST.
* He really likes his hands, mainly his left one (I think he might be a lefty)
* He loves watching moving objects and requires LOTS of attention
* He is now watching BARNEY... I would have frowned upon lettnig a baby watch TV but he doesn't want nor like all those little rattler toys..does not interest him one bit. He kicks and squeals at Barney
* I feel he will be skipping crawling and go straight to cycling. His little feet are constantly moving. It looks like he is riding a bike-ALL the time
* He is sitting up in his Bumbo... where is my baby, he is only 11 weeks?

Strolling
A couple of days this week it warmed up enough to get out and stroll. It was so nice to get out and exercise a little bit and Tripp really enjoyed it as well. He was snoozing by the time we got back home!!
Weekend of Fun
This weekend, the Jones came to town. We had so much fun hanging out with Holder and Sims. (Holder has the touch with babies) Tripp loved Holder and would just grin at him. The Nintendo DS was a big hit and got passed around the room mainly by the adults!!!

Tripp,
Already my love for you is more intense than I thought possible. And yet I know almost as little about you as you know about me. I have no idea what color your eyes will be, although now they are a beautiful blue like your fathers. I don’t know when you will speak your first word. I don’t know when you will learn to crawl or walk. I don’t even know who you will resemble the most me or your father. I do know that you are my son and that my love for you grows deeper and deeper everyday. Your smile melts my heart and you cry saddens me. I have such high hopes for you and most importantly God has a very special plan for you. You have made your appearance at a time that has broken every record for evil and cruelty. It’s a time of war and catastrophe. And we can only ask why? I wish I could tell you but I can’t. The world can be a dangerous and hateful place and I pray you will be safe. Innocent as you are, no one is born naturally a good person. It takes training and believing in something so much bigger than us, God. You will be raised in a Christian environment, I pray you will grow to be kind, honest, and moral. You will have character and integrity. You will not treat others as you would wish not to be treated.(Love thy neighbor as thyself” -Leviticus 19:18) You will know the meaning or right and wrong and will be able to choose between them. You will find than nothing in this life requires more strength than self discipline. Oh Tripp, the odds will be against you to be a failure, but you will be strong. “With God, all things are possible” and “you can do all things thru Christ who strengthens you.” - Phillipians 4:13 You have your whole life ahead of you and like any parent I wish you health, success, happiness and fortune. But most importantly I want you to be a Godly man. I pray for salvation. I pray for your spouse. I pray that you love her and treat her with respect. You will never lay your hands on her to hurt her. I pray that you be the leader of your family as you are the head of the house. Tripp, you are so special to me and your father. We love you very much and always remember that God is most important in your life.
All my love,
Momma
